About Jim Applegate

I am a web producer and developer living in the Denver Metro Area, specifically Westminster, Colorado. I build websites, sing and help raise my two kids, sometimes all at the same time.

I work in Boulder at The Hain Celestial Group, a natural foods company with headquarters in Melville, New York. If you shop at a natural food store like Whole Foods Market, you know many of our products. Most locals think of the place I work as Celestial Seasonings, and indeed, our facility still makes the world's best herbal tea just as it always has. We merged with the Hain Food Group in 2001, but we are still a largely independent facility. If you are in the area, I recommend coming for the factory tour. It's free and the Peppermint room is memorable.

At work, my responsibilities extend beyond the Celestial Seasonings brand and include over 70 websites for over 40 brands. Our web department is small with just two of us doing our best to keep up with the needs of the company. What we lack in resources, we make up for with creativity, tenacity, and a thirst for knowledge. I'm faced with interesting challenges every day and I enjoy the process of teasing a solution out of a tangled mess.
